Wood artist Robin Wade prefers to celebrate cherry’s natural beauty by crafting cherry table tops for his one-of-a-kind modern tables at his Slow Studio in Florence, Alabama. Today, Wade says, it is rare to see furnishings that feature cherry wood in its natural color and the beautiful flame patterns that can occur in the hardwood’s grain. “Cherry’s beauty and color are quite subtle,” Wade says. “It is really beautiful in its natural form.” In order to feature the wood’s natural beauty, Wade prefers to finish the pieces he crafts from this striking hardwood—including cherry table tops and bases—with a hand-rubbed oil. See cherry console tables here.
